About Orbitarot

Free tarot readings, the I Ching, astrology charts and numerology calculators, built to be calm, honest and private.

What we believe

Tarot and the I Ching are tools for reflection. They help you look at a question from new angles. We do not claim that they predict fixed events, and we never sell psychic readings, credits or subscriptions.

How the readings work

Every reading uses the full 78-card deck: the 22 Major Arcana and the 56 Minor Arcana. When you press Shuffle, your browser mixes the deck with a cryptographic random generator (the same kind used for security keys), so every order is equally likely and nobody, including us, can set the result. Each card also gets a fair coin toss for upright or reversed, unless you switch reversed cards off.

Then the whole deck is spread face down in front of you. Pick the cards that catch your eye, the way you would at a real table, or press Pick for me. The art is Pamela Colman Smith's original 1909 deck, scanned from an early 1909 printing (the “Pam-A” state).

Every card has a written reading for each position it can take in a spread (1,404 in total, upright and reversed), and a rule-based story ties the cards together: whether the spread moves toward easier or harder cards, the dominant suit, repeated numbers, court cards and reversals. No AI writes your reading, and nothing you type is sent anywhere. Astrology charts are calculated in your browser too, from the method set out on our astrology method page.

Sources

Cards and coins are drawn with your browser's cryptographic random generator. Your questions and readings stay on your device. Card meanings and plain-language I Ching readings are written by us; the I Ching judgments and lines are from James Legge's 1882 translation (public domain); the card art is Pamela Colman Smith's original deck (public domain), scanned from an early 1909 printing (the “Pam-A” state). Astrology positions come from our own engine, checked against NASA JPL Horizons, and place data from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0).

Our sources and rules are set out in full in how we write.
