What a tarot spread is
A spread is a layout: a fixed number of cards, each placed in a position with its own meaning, such as "the past" or "what stands in the way". The same card reads differently in different positions: the Tower as your past is something that already fell apart, the Tower as advice asks you to let a false structure go. That is why every reading on this site is written for the position each card lands in, not just for the card.
More cards do not mean a better reading. Three cards answered honestly beat ten cards read in a hurry. Decide what each position means before you draw, write your question down, and save the reading to your journal so you can look back at it.
