The positions of this spread
- Where you stand now: How things stand as the coming weeks begin: the mood, the pressures and the openings you carry into them.
- What is on its way: What is moving toward you over the next few weeks, read as a tendency that is already taking shape.
- What helps you: The strength, habit or person you can lean on while things unfold.
- What to watch for: What could trip you up if you are not paying attention: a blind spot, a habit or a pressure to keep an eye on.
- Where the coming weeks lead: Where the next few weeks are likely to lead if things keep going as they are now. Your choices can still change it.
When to use a near future spread
Use it when something is about to move and you want a calm look at the next few weeks: a new job starting soon, a conversation you keep putting off, the weeks after a move, a project close to its deadline or a relationship at a turning point. The spread looks roughly two to six weeks ahead. For a day by day view, the weekly tarot spread works better, and for a whole month with one card per week, try the monthly tarot spread. If you only want the bare outline of where a situation came from and where it is going, the three card reading is quicker.
How to read the coming weeks
- Compare the first and the last card. Card 1 is your starting point and card 5 is where things are heading. If card 5 is brighter, the coming weeks are moving in your favor. If it is heavier, the spread is showing you where to put your effort now.
- Read card 2 as something already on its way. It is a tendency that is forming, not a promise. A Page or an Ace there often points to news or a fresh start; a Five or a Seven points to a stretch that asks for patience.
- Read cards 3 and 4 as a pair. What helps you and what to watch for usually answer each other. The helping card is often the answer to the problem the other card names.
- Count the Major Arcana. Two or more Majors suggest the coming weeks matter more than they seem. Mostly Minor Arcana cards point to everyday shifts you can steer with small choices.
- Write it down and check back. Save the reading to your journal, then look at it again in three or four weeks. Noticing what matched and what did not is how you learn to read your own cards.
What a near future reading can and cannot tell you
Tarot does not predict events. A near future reading reflects the patterns already in play and the directions they could take, so you can think about them before they arrive. It cannot tell you about health, pregnancy, death, court cases or money results, and our readings never try. If a question touches any of those, talk to a doctor, a lawyer or a financial adviser. Hard cards are not verdicts: Death in the last position points to an ending that clears space, never to a literal death, and the Tower points to a plan or belief that may need rebuilding. The weeks ahead still depend on what you do with them.

Questions
Is this near future tarot reading free?
Yes. You can shuffle the full 78-card deck, pick five cards and read every position here for free, with no sign-up and no email address. Your question and your cards stay in your browser, and you can save the reading to your journal or share it with a link if you want to.
How far ahead does a near future tarot spread look?
Roughly the next two to six weeks. That is close enough for the cards to describe what is already forming, and far enough ahead for you to act on what they show. For a single day, draw a daily card; for a whole month with one card per week, use the monthly spread instead.
Can tarot really predict my near future?
No. Tarot does not see fixed events. It reflects the mood, patterns and choices already in play and shows where they could lead, which is useful for thinking ahead. It never predicts health, pregnancy, death, legal outcomes or money results, and what happens next still depends on you.
What if I draw the Tower or Death in this spread?
Neither card predicts disaster or a literal death. In the near future spread, the Tower points to a plan or belief that may need rebuilding, and Death points to something ending to make room for what comes next. Read the helping card and the advice under your reading to see how to meet that change.
