The five positions
- Where you stand: your current situation at work.
- What helps you: strengths and allies you can lean on.
- What holds you back: the obstacle or habit in the way.
- Your next step: the most useful thing to do now.
- Where it is heading: the direction if nothing changes.
Each card is read with its career meaning.
What tarot can and cannot do for your career
The cards are good at surfacing what you already half know: that you are bored, that a colleague is an ally, that it is time to ask for more. They are not financial advice. Before money decisions, talk to a qualified adviser.
How the draw works
The full 78-card deck is shuffled in your browser with a cryptographic random generator, then spread face down for you to choose from. How the readings work explains the shuffle, reversals and where the meanings come from.
Cards that speak loudest about work
Pentacles is the suit of work, skill and security, and a few Major Arcana cards carry strong career meanings. Their upright career readings, from the same texts the spread uses:
| Card | For work, upright |
|---|---|
| Eight of Pentacles | Skill built through steady practice. |
| Three of Pentacles | Teamwork; your craft is noticed. |
| Ace of Pentacles | A practical opening: a role, a project, a course. |
| Seven of Pentacles | Time to assess what your effort has grown. |
| The Chariot | Drive and focus carry you through competition. |
| The Magician | You have the tools; start using them. |
| The Emperor | Structure, leadership and clear rules. |
| Six of Wands | Recognition after a win. |
| Ten of Wands | Too much on your plate; delegate or drop. |
| Five of Pentacles | A lean spell; ask for support. |
In five cards, the chance of drawing at least one Pentacles card is 63.9%, so most career readings include one. If none appears, the reading is often about energy, relationships at work or your own mindset rather than money or skills.
Questions
Can tarot tell me if I will get the job?
It cannot promise an outcome, but it can show the energy around the application and what to focus on: where you stand, what helps you and what holds you back. For a quick answer, use the yes or no tarot; for the bigger picture, use this spread, and prepare well either way.
