Hexagram 37 in plain words
Wind rises out of fire. Heat from the hearth creates a draft that carries outward, so what happens in the home spreads to the wider world. Tradition sees the household as the root of good order everywhere: if the family is well ordered, the community follows. The hexagram gives special weight to the person who keeps the inner life of the home steady.
The practical message is that influence starts close by. Your words should have substance and your conduct should be consistent, because people near you notice everything. Clear boundaries and fair expectations are kind, not cold; a home without them slides into chaos. At the same time, rules work best when held with affection rather than fear. Every member has a role, and when each one honors it, the group is stronger than any person alone. Look at your closest circle, whether family, partner, roommates or a small team. Where are the roles unclear, the promises vague, or the tone careless? Small repairs there pay off more than grand gestures elsewhere.
The judgment
For (the realisation of what is taught in) Kiâ Zăn, (or for the regulation of the family), what is most advantageous is that the wife be firm and correct.
Translation: James Legge, 1882 (public domain).
The image
(The trigram representing) fire, and that for wind coming forth from it, form Kiâ Zăn. The superior man, in accordance with this, orders his words according to (the truth of) things, and his conduct so that it is uniformly consistent.
From Legge's Appendix II (the Great Symbolism), The Sacred Books of the East, vol. 16, 1882 (public domain).
In plain words: Wind rises from the fire, the warmth of the hearth spreading outward. Let your words rest on real facts and keep your conduct consistent, because people at home notice both.
The six lines
Read only the lines that changed in your reading. Lines are counted from the bottom.
Line 1 (bottom)
The first NINE, undivided, shows its subject establishing restrictive regulations in his household. Occasion for repentance will disappear.
Set firm limits at the very start of a household or group. Clear rules early on prevent regret later.
Line 2
The second SIX, divided, shows its subject taking nothing on herself, but in her central place attending to the preparation of the food. Through her firm correctness there will be good fortune.
Do not follow passing whims. Look after what is in front of you, the daily care and the shared meal, and steady attention brings good fortune.
Line 3
The third NINE, undivided, shows its subject (treating) the members of the household with stern severity. There will be occasion for repentance, there will be peril, (but) there will (also) be good fortune. If the wife and children were to be smirking and chattering, in the end there would be occasion for regret.
When tempers run high, too much strictness causes some regret but still turns out well. Letting everyone laugh and do as they please ends in embarrassment.
Line 4
The fourth SIX, divided, shows its subject enriching the family. There will be great good fortune.
You are the treasure of the house, the one who keeps it well supplied and cared for. Your quiet care brings great good fortune.
Line 5
The fifth NINE, undivided, shows the influence of the king extending to his family. There need be no anxiety; there will be good fortune.
Like a good king among his own people, you lead through love rather than fear. There is nothing to worry about; good fortune.
Line 6 (top)
The topmost NINE, undivided, shows its subject possessed of sincerity and arrayed in majesty. In the end there will be good fortune.
Your sincerity and dignity earn lasting respect. In the end, things go well because people trust you.

All three relations have traditional Chinese names (cuo gua for the opposite, zong gua for the inverse, hu gua for the nuclear). Many modern readers use the opposite as the shadow side of a situation, the inverse as the same moment seen from the other side, and the nuclear hexagram as its inner core.
