Cancer belongs to the Chariot, card VII, in the Golden Dawn system. A driver in armor stands in a stone chariot under a canopy of stars, crescent moons on his shoulders, while a black sphinx and a white sphinx rest in front of him. The armor makes a neat match for the crab and its shell. Cancer is often associated with a protective, home-loving nature, but the Chariot shows the other side: when something matters, this sign can move with surprising resolve.
As a Water sign, Cancer shares its element with the suit of Cups, which deals with feelings, family, friendship and care. Its ruler, the Moon, corresponds to the High Priestess, a card of intuition and quiet inner knowing. A Cancer day is often shaped by mood and by the people closest to home. The daily card can help name a feeling before it takes the wheel, so that care for others still leaves room for your own direction.
How to read your daily card as Cancer
Cancer tends to feel a card before thinking it through, so notice your first emotional reaction and trust it as information. Then ask what the card says about the people and places you protect. A Cups card speaks to the heart, while the Chariot or a Wands card may ask you to step forward.
This card is drawn for every Cancer at once and changes at midnight. For a card that is yours alone, use the personal card of the day; for the astrology behind these pairings, read tarot and astrology.
